This Youtube clip demonstrates how imperative is is that we adhere to the Essential Attributes of This We Believe, which state that an education for young adolescents (for all children) must be 1. Developmentally Responsive; 2. Challenging; 3. Empowering; 4. Equitable.

ReplyDeleteThis project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.
Technology is the modern world - it will continue to evolve at increasingly astonishing rates and every generation will be a product of the technologies of the age. This We Believe says we need to be relevant; the only way to do this is to include technology in almost everything. Beyond just this, we need to continue to learn and incorporate newer technologies. This process can never stop.

And based on the This We Believe Characteristic - Keys to Educating Young Adolescents, what we must do as teachers is to become leaders and role models for our students in the area of technology by seeking out, ongoing professional development that reflects best educational practices. Not only must we use technology effectively in our classrooms, but we must also teach our students how to monitor sites to make sure they are reputable - to not accept everything as being highly credible resources.
